For six weeks (9/2 – 10/7) in the fall of 2012 we challenged the congregation to bring in 600 pairs of socks in 6 weeks. The socks collected were to be handed out to families in need of local elementary students.
The final tally on 10/7 was 701 pairs of socks!
The extra 101 pairs were donated to Brown Memorial UMC on Syracuse’s Westside
one of the most poverty stricken sections of the city.
